A low pressure system will push North over Ireland on Sunday into Monday and it could bring very heavy rain!
The GFS model is forecasting over 100mm falling in parts of the South West in a 24 hour period.
This would likely cause very bad flooding.
This amount of rain would be very rare for Ireland and would be well above the Red Warning Criteria.
Fortunately other weather models are not agreeing with this amounts of rain falling and models are also not in agreement on the exact area of rainfall.
The ECMWF model shows the rain path over the South East and are forecasting over 50mm of rain falling in a 24 hour period.
Please keep an eye on forecasts by Weather Alerts Ireland as this could lead to a serious weather event.
